The Lees Valley Farmer’s Group (LVFG) was formed in January 2005 to discuss agronomic issues related to the intensification of Lees Valley and similar farm types throughout the South Island. The initial project terminated in winter 2009. This field day (2011) reports the results of the second MAF Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) project which aimed to quantify the longer term persistence of the pasture species and mixtures had been established in the 10 ha research and extension area. This final public field day exposes a wider audience to the range of issues tackled over the course of the two projects and provides additional explanatory data for discussion. The Lees Valley Farmers Group will continue to maintain the site until June 2012 through MAF SFF for pasture persistence.en
