Abstract
Conventional methods in business and management schools are unable to create future business leaders who can find solutions to complex problems. In 2007, the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) was launched to inspire and champion responsible management education. Over the past decade, the PRME has emerged as a learning platform for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). While proponents argued about the capacity of PRME to drive change in business HEIs, the critics gave us a reason to investigate whether the PRME offers enough to act as a catalyst to bring about this change. Through a multiple case study of three business HEIs, we reveal whether the PRME offers enough to position business and management education for purpose and impact.
