Abstract
Collaboration Jacky Bowring (NZ) and Megan Johnson (CA) Overlaying maps of our respective cities and walking similar routes at exactly the same time created the conditions for ‘haunting’ the footsteps of the other as we walked. Pausing every ten minutes we exchanged words, voice clips, photos, prompting discussion around our collective themes of care, repair, displacement, memory. Being paired together for the residency was a rich experience in the fruitfulness of collaboration and the synchronicity that can come from an intense focus on a shared project. Although we do not have formal plans for collaboration at this point, the residency has given us the tools for working together from our distant locations.
