Abstract
The incidence of atherosclerosis in modern, western society has increased rapidly over the last one hundred years. The disease is characterised by the development of lesions with a high lipid content in the major blood vessels. As a consequence, understanding lipid metabolism in the bloodstream is of increasing importance. The aim of this work is to add further information to this rapidly increasing area of research.
