Abstract
In this dissertation, I propose to demonstrate that a Farm Park can be a synthesis of agriculture, recreation and conservation. I believe that the time is opportune for the discussion of Farm Park development and interpretation, for although New Zealand has a number of Farm Parks, their interpretative potential and benefits have not been fully realised. It is through public awareness and participation that stimulus will be maintained to increase the further development of a progressive policy and set of objectives for Farm Park interpretative development. I hope that this paper will provide public understanding and enjoyment of the countryside through the avenue of Farm Park interpretation. A successfully interpreted visit to a Farm Park offers an experience that is both entertaining and enlightening to all age groups.
