Abstract
The purpose of this research is to 1. Undertake a scoping analysis of the potential for value transfer to provide useful estimates of the nonmarket value of New Zealand marine recreational fishing. 2. Evaluate existing studies of the mean non-market value of recreational fishing. The purpose is to produce an estimate of the likely order of magnitude of the mean value of marine recreational fishing to allow evaluation of the merits of undertaking a robust value transfer study.
