Abstract
The production of seed in quality from a new herbage variety in the first step in making it available for use by farmers. This applies equally to “Tama” Westerworlds ryegrass, which is a new winter active annual variety suitable for short term production of heavy yields of high quality herbage in winter and early spring. To achieve rapid adoption of this new variety, which means lowering the price and increasing the supply of seed, attention must be given to methods of producing maximum efficient seed yields from it.
