Abstract
The present studies were carried out to investigate whether the leaves are concerned solely with hormone production or whether they are involved in the supply of photosynthates to lateral buds. Also as the earlier work on GA and IAA interaction present some conflicting results, it was decided to further investigate the interaction of these two hormones with special reference to the role of young leaves as a source of endogenous auxin.
