Abstract
The concepts of sustainability and systems thinking are complementary concepts. The issue of boundary is a crucial link between systems thinking and sustainable development although rarely explored in the literature. This paper explores how the boundary concept is treated in both sustainability and systems thinking and articulates the boundary issue. It also suggests ways of resolving boundary issues in planning, modelling and implementation of sustainability.
