Abstract
Coastal management in the past has been fragmented. The Resource Management Act 1991 and the new statutory requirements for plans represents an attempt at a more integrated approach.
Our aim in this report is to see whether this new system will achieve integrated management. We recognise however, that integrated management is a process as well as an end, and that these two necessarily overlap.
