Abstract
This dissertation will be in two parts. The first will deal with the camera and how to use it. The second part will cover techniques in presentation. Much of the material presented in the first part of this dissertation can be found in other photographic books but, more often than not, one has to wade through a lot of material to get the parts you need. Here, I will try to provide only the essential basics relevant to slide photography in parks and reserves. Much of the information provided will be known to many rangers and staff; to others it will be new. This dissertation is aimed at the newcomer but it contains information to aid everyone, including the 'experienced'.
