Small scale uses of water power in the rural sector

Abstract

The various technical aspects of using water power on a small scale, primarily for farming activities, has been very well covered in previous publications and papers and it is recommended that these be viewed for details of selection, design and application of various types of water power units such as water wheels, water turbines and hydraulic rams. The purpose of this paper is to restate in general terms, the role water power, primarily on the farm, has as an alternative energy source.
