Abstract
This discussion paper describes the dairy farming situation, the changing domestic demand and the changes in imports of dairy products that Japan is experiencing. Some of the problems the dairy farming industry is facing are also mentioned. The paper suggests a method of overcoming these problems by encouraging Japan to adopt some
of New Zealand's dairy farming pasture management techniques.
