Abstract
The New Zealand economy relies on the success of its land-based industries. However, supply chain practices in this sector are significantly lagging than other developed countries suggesting major scope for improving supply chain proficiency. Lately businesses see supply chain management as a source of competitive advantage; hence, the concept has gained considerable momentum over the
past decade. As universities play a key role in educating and disseminating knowledge to businesses, this research explored the extent of university-business collaboration to evaluate their effectiveness in agribusiness supply chain management. Our research revealed that there was consensus on the potential for supply chain skills to add real value to New Zealand's agribusinesses and areas for universities to influence their educational outputs.
