Exploring the effects of demonstrating agricultural cooperatives: Evidence based on 614 cooperatives in China

Abstract

This paper analyzes the demonstrating effects of agricultural cooperatives on operative services, demographic management and food stay construction, using data of 641 cooperatives collected from 12 counties in 8 provinces in China. The Inverse Probability Weighted Regression Adjustment model is used for empirical analysis. The results show that relative to non-demonstrating cooperatives, demonstrating agricultural cooperatives are performing significantly better in terms of operative services, demographic management and food stay construction.
