Abstract
The controversial subdivision of the greenbelt in Christchurch must continue in a regulated way. The Resource Management Act having replaced previous inefficient legislation enhances and facilitates subdivision. Public apprehension should be addressed by local authorities improving public awareness of the RMA and its power to represent them.
