Abstract
Chemical extraction methods are widely used to determine plant available soil phosphorus (P). However, these methods can only provide an approximate measure of potentially available P (Fardeau, 1996). The objectives of this study were to investigate the use of isotopic exchange kinetics (IEK) to assess P availability in a range of grassland soils and to compare IEK with chemical extraction.
