The fact of climate change and its consequences on agricultural production has rightly received increasing attention. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its fourth assessment report has projected change in all the climatic variables influencing plant growth, seed production and seed quality. Yet in the myriad of publications on climate change effects, very few have considered herbage seed production. The likely effects of climate change on herbage seed production and quality are reviewed, and possible mitigation strategies discussed.en
