Planning to improve practices and overcome problems: On farm planning aids

Abstract

Whether it is true or not that the farm business has more management options than other similar sized businesses is open to debate. It is clear, however, that an interacting-multi-enterprise unit within a small business structure such as a farm makes for management complexity. In this paper the basic management requirements are examined in order to establish the planning needs of the farm business before a critical review of existing planning methods (Blackie and Dent, 1973 ).
