dc.description.abstract | Taking part of the Tahakopa Valley, it is proposed that this be planned so that the various land uses become integrated elements in a total landscape rather than separated elements in a divided landscape. The proposal accepts that agriculture, forestry, coastal holiday development at Papatewai, and scenery protection and appreciation are all valid land-uses on the site. It attempts to incorporate them all into a landscape which is both functional and yet retains the visual amenity of the area. The requirement to develop camping facilities and amenities at Papatewai recognized the need to cater for the ever increasing number of people who are using the scenic and recreational opportunities of this area. | en |
